PDB Tools provides a series of sealed bearing bits designed for drilling raise bore pilot holes, blind shaft pilot holes, underground drilling, and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). These bits are all designed with premium bearing systems. These bearing packages include low friction roller bearings to reduce frictional heat in high RPM applications and also provide resistance to galling under high load applications. Unlike traditional pressure compensator systems, our Pilot bits utilize an enclosed, spring loaded piston compensator.
Pilot bit cutting structures feature maximum rows, and quantities of low projection, double conic TCI inserts as the primary cutting element. Gage row inserts consist of tough round top inserts. This combination provides a durable cutting structure that results in maximized bit life. We are also able to design cutting structures specifically tailored to our customers’ unique applications and individual drilling requirements.
